I just registered with Smashwords, wanting to publish a book I have been working on for a few years. So, as you might imagine, I had a steep learning curve, getting everything formatted and fixed up to pass the Smashwords test. The last thing I needed was a crash course on Photoshop, or whatever, so that I could create a cover for my book, “Polaxe”.
The solution came in the form of Cal Sharp, at Caligraphics. I chose him from Mark Coker’s list, found a few likely photos and sent them to Cal, and got a great cover back within 24 hours, and at a very reasonable price! Thanks, Cal!

I have to admit this is the first time I published an ebook. The whole idea of designing a cover was beyond my expertise. However, Cal did a wonderful job capturing just the right image for ‘A Voice for Marlene’. Without knowing he created her perfectly from a copy of an old newspaper photograph. Cal is a magician! I was so thrilled to find him since my last book cover designer charged much more and didn't do half as nice a job. Plus, his turnaround time is very fast and his design ideas are fabulous. I have 27 eBooks and gradually, Cal is re-designing each one of my covers for me, as well as modifying them for the audiobook sites. I can't recommend him highly enough!

Cal has been super easy to work with. Absolutely no pressure. No time limits. Makes amendments no questions asked is genuinely keen to get the artwork just as you like it. Not afraid to change and try your ideas even if they don't work out. Really, a pleasure to work with and I'll definitely be using him for my next book.
